University of the Third Age in The Stewartry, Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland
The Stewartry is the central part of Dumfries and Galloway and includes the towns of Kirkcudbright, Castle Douglas, Dalbeattie, Gatehouse of Fleet and all the villages in the surrounding area. If you are new to Stewartry U3A, welcome to our website. If you are an existing member, we aim to give you an easy source of information on our activities.
Stewartry U3A is a lively and friendly organisation offering a wide range of study, creative and leisure groups for people no longer in full time employment. It is a good way to meet people and make new friends. Our U3A was launched in the winter of 2009 and now has over 200 members with 48 different interest groups covering a wide range of subjects. A general meeting is held monthly with a programme of interesting and topical subjects delivered by excellent speakers. Costs are low because our activities are organised by our members who share their skills and expertise.
If you are seeking to enhance your life in a relaxed way by developing new skills or interests or by furthering those already enjoyed, and would relish the opportunity to establish new friendships, then Stewartry U3A is for you.
If you would like to know more about Stewartry U3A than is available on this website, please do not hesitate to contact us, download our Membership Application Form, or even better, why not come along to one of our monthly meetings held on the fourth Tuesday of the month at the Parish Church, Queen Street, Castle Douglas.
